1st Post

So here it is.
I'm 20, go to school, work...
and in my free time, and sometimes when I'm supposed to be doing other stuff,
I look at, play with and research fish stuff.

I was first interested in fish when I was...
wow...
now that i think about it, i was a freshmen in college, and still living the the freshmen apartments, "Phase 8" apartment 5332. Building 53, 3rd floor, with 4 roomates.

I was hanging out with Amy, and i told her i wanted fish. Simple as that, i knew nothing about them but i decided i wanted some.

We went out and bought a 10 gallon tank, got home, added water and rocks and all the junk, then decided it was too small. I emptied it out and boxed it up, returned it, and bought a 29 gallon tank.

We set it up, got it going, and eventually added some tiger barbs.

Then over the next month i went to the fish store almost everyday. I'd go look around, wishing i had a big fish tank to add all of the fish i wanted.
Over the course of those weeks i ended up with, 3 Tiger Barbs, 3 Albino Tiger Barbs, 2 Pictus Catfish, Pleco, and more, but that was along time ago.

I went through every thing that all beginners do. We got ich, cloudy water, algae, and more. All in stages,

After hours of research, and the loss of our first fish due to ich, the Pictus Cats, I finally got the tank stable.

Then after a couple of months, i moved across campus. Went to 31106, yet another tiny 4 bedroom apartment with 4 guys living in it, plus one girl, and one dog, and a billion diseases in the unopened package of bacon or ham or some meat that had been expired and in the fridge for no joke, 2 years.

Then one day i couldnt help my self. I bought a 55 gallon tank and stand. I had in my little 10' X 10.5' apartment bedroom, a full size bed, a living room entertainment center, a 55 gallon fish tank, a 7' couch, and all of my crap that i owned scattered about.

I was determined, and finally got it to work. I always did my regular water changes, and maintenance.

Then after a few months, it came time to move again.

I then moved over to live with Amy after she had roommate problems and got stuck with a 2 bedroom apartment to herself. That was Madison at Melrose, Apt 1111. Lived there for a year, and during that time i finally got the fish tank so well established that i never did water changes. I changed and cleaned the hang-on filter regularly. I never lost any fish. It was going great. Then we moved again! This time we went across the street to apartment 714.
I lost no fish during the move, but i lugged about 400 pounds of water to the new apartment.
Finally i found my house!

Now were in, and finally getting settled. Amy agreed that if i got her a house, i could get me a nice big fish tank.

It took me about 3 days after finding out about the house to find a 150 gallon oceanic tank. It had no scratches, no leaks, was just resealed, and had plumbing and everything that went with the two overflows.

Anyways, its been a couple of months, and I have in the 150gallon tank,
5 green spotted puffers,
2 - 3"
1 - 2.75"
2 - 1.75"
1 amazon puffer,
1"
2 figure eight puffers,
1 - 3"
1 -2.5"
2 silver tipped sharks.
1 - 5.5"
1 - 6"
9 red and blue clawed hermit crabs
1 - .375"
7 - .75"
1 - 1"
5-15 Ghost Shrimp/Amano shrimp, not sure what mine are, or how many
about 4 are 1.75"
the rest are smaller than that.
They hide out under the dead coral, and get eaten by the puffers so i never know how many there are in the tank,
